US Cabinet Depot needed to not only migrate from Magento Open Source 1 to Magento Commerce 2, but also redesign its entire B2B eCommerce site. As its original site did not fully support the different B2B functionality and workflows the company was looking to achieve, the Silk team helped to implement these features onto the new Magento Commerce site and solved US Cabinet Depot’s various pain points. These included the ability to place bulk orders, manage contract pricing, and establish preferred payment options. Another challenge the company faced was the way the customer data was stored within its original site. Prior to the migration, the Silk team helped US Cabinet Depot reconcile the data formatting inconsistencies and issues to ensure a smooth migration over to its new Magento Commerce site.

Working closely with the US Cabinet Depot eCommerce team and understanding its custom requirements list, the Silk team helped the company achieve its personalized site objectives. For instance, because end consumers often change their minds about cabinetry during a renovation, US Cabinet Depot wanted to give its dealers the ability to change cabinet attributes, such as color or wood type, within an existing order in just a few keystrokes. They also wanted to allow dealers to hide their discount information when sharing designs and components to their end customers.

The B2B site was designed and built to allow dealers to create, save, modify, and reuse previous order information rather than having to start each new transaction from scratch. To reduce errors, Silk designed the site to include an interface that guides the user through the workflows and offers plenty of easily accessible help files and product explanations. The new Magento Commerce site was also integrated with US Cabinet Depot’s NetSuite ERP system. Paying particular attention to order placement to help eliminate user errors, the integration also helped the US Cabinet Depot team navigate the end points around orders, custom pricing, and fulfillment.
