Our client Electrolizing, Inc. of Los Angeles has been the leader in Electrolizing and Hard Chrome Technology since 1947.
Electrolizing provides specialized Electrolizing chrome plating process services nationalwide, covering a variety of products such as cast and pultrusin dies, trubine generator parts, aerospace industry, micro-chip manufacturing industry and so forth.

For more than ten years, Eletrolizing has been managing its daily production and service based on a Disk Operating System(DOS) platform management system. In 2007, Electrolizing recognized that its pace of growth had outspaced the ability of its DOS-based database. Aiming to offer customers with 100% satisfaction, Electrolizing decided to upgrade their legacy system to meet ever-expanding business demands.

Challenge

1. Arduous work had to be paid to catch client’s business and software requirements as the development team was simply presented with a plain DOS-based legacy sysem without any documents to elaborate the complex business process.
2. All existing data has to be migrated into the system system without slowing down the production line.
3. Migrate legacy system from DataPerfect, a DOS-based database to B/S based database SQL Server.

1. Silk Software leverage its multi-channel communication tools to gain a clear vision of client’s requirement in mind.
2. Ajax technology was adopted to tackle with the data-loading problem by swiftly loading 50 needed records at a time and the next 50s next time.
3. Microsoft NET 2.0 frame was introduced to bridge the platform migration gap.
